Taps stop breaking

Torque is set on the head, so the tap stops rather than snapping. On M4 and M5 in steel that alone justifies the machine.

The arm carries the weight

Counterbalanced and gas assisted, so the operator guides rather than holds. Fatigue drops and so do wrong-angle threads.

Any angle, any face

Vertical, horizontal, universal and a tilting head, so awkward holes in fabricated work do not need the job turning over.

Tapping machine questions

Why an arm tapping machine instead of a drill?

A drill press has no reverse and no torque control, so a tap either snaps or the operator fights it out by hand. The servo head runs the tap in, stops on depth and reverses out, and the counterbalanced arm carries the weight. On repetitive tapping it is the difference between a full shift and half of one.

What thread sizes can it handle?

The PA 3-16 covers M3 to M16 through a GT16 chuck. The PA 6-36 covers M6 to M36 through a GT24 chuck on a 1200 W servo. If you tap across both ranges, the larger machine covers most of it.

Can it tap horizontally?

Yes. Both machines work vertical, horizontal and universal, and the head tilts, so a hole in the side of a fabricated frame is tapped without turning the work over.

Do I need an air compressor?

Only for the automatic lubrication and blowing. The tapping itself needs no air. If you have no compressor, lubricate by hand and the machine works normally.

What is the working radius?

1200 mm on both machines, so the arm covers a 2.4 metre circle from one mounting position.
