4.5 Feet Lathe Machine

What is the price of a lathe machine?

Our belt drive cone pulley lathes start at ₹1,60,000 ex-works Batala for the 4.5 foot machine, before GST and freight. Price rises with bed length, swing and spindle bore — a 6 or 8 foot machine costs more than a 4.5, and a 16 or 20 foot machine considerably more. Accessories such as a bigger chuck, steady rest or Norton gearbox also change the figure. How much does a 6 feet lathe machine cost?

The 6 foot machine is the size most Indian workshops buy first. Price depends on the bed width, height of centre and spindle bore you choose, since the same 6 foot bed is built in several capacities. What is the 8 feet lathe machine price?

The 8 foot lathe is our most exported size and is built in several bed widths and bores. Because the specification varies so widely at this size, we quote it against your requirement rather than publishing one figure. Do you make 10, 12, 16 and 20 feet lathe machines?

Yes. The standard range runs from 4.5 feet to 30 feet in nine bed lengths, and bed length and bed width are chosen separately, so a 12 foot machine can be built narrow or heavy depending on the work. The 16 and 20 foot machines are commonly used for roll turning, sugar mill and steel plant work. Anything beyond the standard range is built to order.

Is GST and delivery included in the lathe machine price?

No. Prices are ex-works Batala, before GST and freight. GST is charged at the applicable rate on the invoice, and transport is quoted separately to your city at actuals. We arrange the transport from our end. For export orders we quote FOB or CIF as you prefer.

What size lathe machine do I need?

Two numbers decide it. The longest job you will turn sets the bed length, and the largest diameter sets the swing. If you machine pipe or bar through the spindle, the bore matters as much as either. Send us those three figures and we will tell you the right model.

Belt drive or all geared — which is better?

Cone pulley belt drive is simpler, cheaper to buy, cheaper to repair and easier to get parts for anywhere in India, which is why it remains the standard workshop machine. All geared makes sense where speed changes are constant, or on heavy jobs where a belt would slip under torque. We supply both, so we have no reason to push you either way.

Is a Norton gearbox the same as all geared?

No, and it is a common mix-up. The Norton or semi-Norton gearbox is the quick-change box for threading pitches and feed rates. Whether the spindle is belt driven or geared is a separate matter. Our cone pulley machines are belt driven for spindle speed and carry a Norton box for threading.

What is swing over gap?

Swing over bed is the largest diameter that clears the bed ways along the full length. Swing in gap is the larger diameter you can turn immediately in front of the face plate once the gap piece is removed — useful for short, large diameter work like flanges and pulleys.

What is the price of a lathe machine?

Price depends on bed length, bed width, spindle bore and the accessories fitted. A 6 feet machine and a 16 feet machine are different products at different prices. Message the size you need on WhatsApp and you will have a figure the same working day.

Do you arrange transport?

Yes. We arrange transport from Batala to your site anywhere in India, and freight is charged to you at actual. You are welcome to arrange your own transporter instead if you prefer.

Do you install the machine?

Installation is not included in the machine price. Most workshops set these machines up themselves, as the levelling and foundation requirement is straightforward. If you want our man at site, that can be arranged at extra cost — tell us at the time of order.

What warranty do you give?

One year against any technical fault. Day to day support is over video call, which resolves most queries the same day. Where a site visit is needed, that is arranged at extra cost.
