How it is built

What makes the cut clean

Two spindles, two jobs

The first spindle takes brake drums, the second takes discs. No changeover, no stripping the machine down between a drum job and a disc job.

Quick setting sleeves

Standard sleeve sets for four wheeler hubs across LCV, MCV and HCV, so a wheel is mounted and running true in minutes rather than shimmed by trial.

Three speed gearbox

Sealed and maintenance free, with speeds matched to diameter. Large drums turn slow for a clean cut, small discs run faster.

Twin cutting tools

Both faces of a disc are cut in one pass, which keeps the two sides parallel and halves the time on every rotor.

Micro adjustment lever

Fine depth control for the finishing cut, so the surface comes off smooth enough to bed pads in without glazing.

Compact and rigid

Built heavy for its size to keep chatter out of the cut, but small enough to fit a garage bay rather than needing a machine shop.

Brake lathe buying questions

Why machine a brake drum or disc instead of replacing it?
Because a scored or run-out drum will chew through a new set of linings in weeks, and a warped disc will judder however good the pads are. Skimming restores a true, flat surface for a fraction of the cost of replacement, and on truck and bus drums the saving on a single axle can pay for several jobs.
Which model do I need?
Work from the largest drum you see. The C9335 goes to 350 mm and suits car and light commercial work. The C9445 goes to 450 mm. The C9465 takes drums to 650 mm and discs to 500 mm, which covers truck, bus and tractor work.
Can it do both drums and discs?
Yes, and that is the point of the twin spindle layout. One spindle is set up for drums and the other for discs, so a garage handling both does not have to reconfigure the machine between jobs.
What is the twin cutting tool for?
It cuts both faces of a disc at the same time. That keeps the two friction faces parallel to each other, which single-tool machines struggle with, and it halves the cutting time on every rotor.
Do sleeves come with the machine?
A standard sleeve set is supplied covering common four wheeler hubs across LCV, MCV and HCV. Additional sets, the small drum accessory kit and vehicle specific fixtures are available separately.
What supply and space does it need?
A single phase supply for the smaller machine and a modest three phase for the larger. The C9335 needs about half a square metre of floor; the C9465 is 800 by 875 mm. All three fit a normal garage bay.
