Supplied with: gearbox, chuck plate, change gear set, steady rest, follow rest assembly and dead centres. Chuck size, coolant, taper turning attachment and motor rating can all be specified.

Every machine is inspected and test run at our works before despatch, with an inspection and dispatch certificate issued against it. Is this the right size?
Four machines, one bed length
We build the 16 foot bed in four widths — 22, 24, 26 and 28 inches — and they are meaningfully different machines. The PAL1622 at 3,800 kg gives a 40 inch swing and a 20 inch centre height. The PAL1628 at 6,000 kg gives a 52 inch swing and a 26 inch centre height. Between them is nearly ₹2 lakh of difference and 2,200 kg of cast iron.
The right choice comes from the largest diameter you must swing, not from the longest shaft. Everything in this range handles 4,000 mm between centres; what separates them is what will pass over the bed.
Above 16 feet
The standard range runs to 30 feet, and beyond the 16 foot machines we build to order rather than to a catalogue. Bed widths to 40 inches are available. For dedicated roll turning we build a separate machine designed for that duty — talk to us about the roll diameter and length and we will tell you which is the right route.

Floor space, foundation and power
Space and foundation
Allow roughly 5.8 m × 2.4 m for the machine, 1.3 m behind and 3 m at the tailstock end. Working footprint around 9.5 m × 4 m, and you need crane or hoist access over the machine for loading heavy components. A 400 mm reinforced concrete foundation with grouted bolts is required, cured properly before installation. Foundation drawing issued at order stage so civil work can run in parallel with manufacture.
Electrical supply
5 HP standard across the range, 3-phase 415 V. Allow a 15 to 20 HP supply for coolant, and consider a separate starter panel.
Transport and unloading
3,800 to 6,000 kg depending on bed width. Moves on a low bed trailer, and a crane is required at your end. 5 to 8 days across India; we advise on route and permits for the heavier models.
